The Chillout Lounge Mix - Love 2

The world is better with more kindness, if music is the answer, let’s make love unquestionable.

Leaving his mark with one release at a time, Lake Turner is looking inward for his next one. Despite having traded life on an isolated farm in Worcestershire for the hustle and bustle of London ten years ago, the calmness of the countryside continues to inspire Lake Turner's music. His new EP, Arcade 55, sees the producer layer driving beats with soothing ambient synths which cast the mind to a place of stillness. It also includes field recordings captured by Lake Turner on camping trips and hikes, sounds which, like the panning sound during Full Bloom reminiscent of orbiting planets, instantly bring the listener's focus to earth and the natural environment. Ultimately, the producer has a growing talent for putting familiar sounds within an unfamiliar setting with truly evocative effects. Using time-stretching within his music is another key element in his creative process - after processing a loop or unused idea, Lake Turner then stretches it into a drone and then jams over the top to see where it leads. “There's more of a creative freedom on this EP – I feel like I've been bolder and taken more risks with this one. For example the title track - it's not normally a tempo or sound palette I would ever normally work with.” The self-examination on this album has undoubtedly pushed a fresh sense of freedom. Lake Turner says, “For me, it has been the most testing year of my life so it's more emotional than my previous output in that respect but I feel too close to it to know for sure.” The nature that surrounds us is constantly evolving and this notion is reflected at the centre of Arcade 55. I have an EP on madloch’s superb Crossfade Sounds label soon, the Mirrors EP includes four different vibes from calm to deep to ethereal. I’m enjoying cross pollinating genres as always, the more electronic undertones here feel great to express what’s inside. Following successive singles Second Life and A Vision, Finnish electronic artist Blomfelt is set to unveil the remaining six tracks that encompass his hotly anticipated I’m Interested In Apathy LP. Speaking about the album’s ethos, Blomfelt says: “It’s an exploration of fleeting, beautiful moments, reminiscent of various phases in our lives, including those formative memories from childhood that often reveal their significance much later, once time has settled. “It’s a yearning for those moments of contentment and profound happiness to linger, an unrelenting desire to grasp them tightly,” he continues. ENiGMA Dubz new mixtape #Vibes, future dance anthem Free Ur Mind features one of the hottest properties in UK bass music right now, Lauren L’aimant. The Fair by illo introduces an incredible sample that immerses listeners in an illusory realm, evoking a sensation of stepping into another world. The track's rhythm possesses a captivating floatiness, seamlessly intertwining with vibrant vocals and electronic beats. The artwork aligns perfectly with this ethereal vibe, resembling a moment of soaring into the air, capturing a timeless essence within the music itself. The song freezes time, encapsulating a brilliant musical journey where the clock seems to stand still. Miguel Palacios offers up a sublime rework of Naomi Sharon's Another Life. A great beat driven extension from a beautiful original. Pumping out an exquisite blend of sluggish house jack alongside archetypal Andalusian flavours and bass-driven manoeuvres, Phoenix by Fabian Krooss & Frida Darko on A Tribe Called Kotori ticks all the boxes of a festival season-ready chugger, geared and ready for the laid-back dancefloor hustle-and-bustle ahead, whether your feet are buried into a sleek blanket of white sand or ritually tapping the floor in some lushly-forested oasis of green. In the hands of Koletzki, Phoenix gathers optimum floor momentum, as it slightly revs up the tempo and frames Darko's mesmeric vocals into a proper DJ-friendly 4x4 gridlock. Emphasizing on the playful character of its cascading synth chords and enhancing the original's elastic bass bounce to irresistible effect, the Stil vor Talent captain sends us right into orbit. Krooss' maiden full-length fantasy coming in hot, you've been warned. No One Around label presents the second release of 2024 from the founder himself, Fahlberg. With A Heart To Share, Fahlberg entices the audience to immerse themselves in his musical universe characterized by resonant chords, cinematic strings, pulsating drums, and captivating vocals, a breathtaking and emotional musical journey. Where The Shadow Ends present Lost Remixes Vol.1 Including tracks from label bosses Madraas and Davide Ferrario, DSF, Evren Furtuna, Matur, Traumhouse, Veytik. High quality sounds as always. Illuvia - Chandra's Dream includes source sounds dreamt and recorded in Sweden many moons ago reawakened and reshaped in Sri Lanka and Türkiye in 2023, beautiful music. Kaleida share Don’t Turn Me Out, taken from their anticipated new album In Arms, released through Embassy One. The soaring, ethereal Don’t Turn Me Out is the final track on Kaleida’s forthcoming album In Arms. It is the fourth single to be taken from the album, its predecessors being Stranger, Hollow and Seagull Nun, all of which serve as a testament to the duo’s ability to craft emotionally resonant music that leaves a lasting impact. Christina Wood and Cicely Goulder on Don’t Turn Me Out: “We wanted a more introspective, stripped-back track on the record - the demo was just Christina's voice with a Wurlitzer, that we then enhanced with lots of textures. We were so excited when Jesse Tabish from Other Lives agreed to sing on the track, which has the same American folk roots that we love in his voice, music, and spirit.” Sean Holland presents The Sound Of Chi, downtempo breakbeat for the soul, perfect for chilling on the beach in Ibiza. It was a pleasure remixing Deep Dive Corp. In Limbo which features the blissed out vocals of Hush Forever and some other quality versions to choose from. Untold Melodies, the 4-track cinematic ambient EP by Swedish producer Niclas Lundqvist (Valley View Records), is a captivating sonic journey through uncharted emotional landscapes. Lundqvist's masterful use of textures and atmospheric layers creates a deeply immersive experience that takes listeners on a contemplative voyage. Each track within the EP unfolds like an untold story, weaving a delicate tapestry of sound that resonates with evocative, yet unseen melodies, making it a compelling addition to the ambient music landscape. Returning to Anjuna’s Reflections label is Glaswegian producer and composer Jon Cooper, aka Turtle, presenting his new ethereal 4-track EP Acts Of Union EP. Born out of his fascination for sound and a desire to entertain his peers, Jon’s journey into music production began in the vibrant electronic scene of late ‘90s and early 2000s Glasgow. Despite having no formal musical training and claiming an inability to read sheet music, Jon’s evolution was profoundly shaped by his surroundings and a commitment to experimentation, gradually moving away from the confines of dance music and embracing a more fluid and experimental sound. Turtle’s brand new EP ‘Acts Of Union’ is an enchanting sonic journey, born from spontaneous improvisation and primarily recorded in a single take. The project is introspective, and crafted to evoke a sense of nostalgia, he summarises this concept as: “The Acts of Union EP draws its inspiration from the contemplation of mortality as temporary physical vessels and the notion that the spirit, soul, or energy—whatever name you prefer—persists beyond our mortal flesh. The aim was to craft a sonic aesthetic that evokes a sense of nostalgia - a beauty that emerges amidst degradation, akin to enduring vignettes that have weathered the passage of time.” French electronic artist Croquet Club (Reflections), AKA Jeremy Villecourt drops the second single Love In Our Hands from his anticipated upcoming album Fugue In Twilight. Croquet Club has been at the heart of Anjunadeep for the best part of a decade, after being discovered via Soundcloud and making his debut on the label in 2013. Love In Our Hands is a string-filled cinematic track that is full of emotion, and is teeming with gratitude, hope and the promise of new beginnings. “It’s a song about self-healing and the love we all have inside us,” Jeremy says. "In this song my insecure, ego-driven self talks to the luminous, divine one. I could be talking to Love itself, as if it was a person or a sensible entity.” Following Mattr's remixes for Max Cooper and Grammy award winner Steven Weston comes a slice of percussive driven electronica on his own imprint - Loft & Sound. Fusing his signature ethereal sound with syncopated rhythms and warm pads Llam has an upbeat tone driving glitchy percussive rhythms.
